When working with children, I will always begin by meeting with one or both care givers and from that I will move into building a therapeutic relationship with the child.
The sessions are tailored to the specific age, development and situation of the child or adolescent. Developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive therapies are used such as Play and Art Therapies and Sandtray.
There are times when children experience a range of behavioural and emotional difficulties. The earlier the concern is addressed, the better is the outcome.
It is vital to take the time to find a therapist that you and your child trusts, feels safe and comfortable with and who has the required skills to help you achieve your goals.
During a 10-minute complimentary phone consultation I provide you the opportunity to ask questions, gain a sense of me as a person and discuss what to expect during our journey together.
It also allows me to get an idea of your requirements, expectations and goals.
